Student Spotlight - September 2009

Cristina Sorrells, Archive Assistant

1. What’s your year, major and hometown?
I am a junior, though I transferred in for my sophomore year. My major is Archaeology. Currently, I live in Bridgeton NJ.
2. To what campus organizations or clubs are you a member?
I am secretary of the Japanese Cultural club, a member of the Republican Club and president/secretary of Shotokan Karate.
3. What was the last book you read?
The last book I read for pleasure was Star Trek: The Captain’s Table Book 4
4. What do you like to do for fun?
My hobbies are reading, playing The SIMS 2, knitting and watching Japanese Anime and Korean Dramas.
5. What have you learned while working at the library?
Working in the library in the Archives has allowed me to learn many things about the history of Lycoming College that are not common knowledge, especially in regards to the old buildings and former students. I have also gotten to see how artifacts can be properly archived and preserved which will help greatly in my future endeavor to be an archaeologist.

Gail

Gail Spencer will be leaving the Snowden Library after many years of service to our students, faculty, and staff. The circulation desk has won high marks on user satisfaction thanks to Gail's personal touch.
